Struthers Library Theatre is building the SLT Academy one program, one instructor and one curriculum at a time. The long-range goal is to make SLT Academy an arts and education destination, bursting with responsible students trained in the theatre arts under the guidance of local and visiting artist. Students will develop their own productions, attend training classes, earn professional internships, compete in musical theatre competitions, assemble professional internships, compete in musical theatre competitions, assemble professional networks with working artist and complete projects of benefit to our students’ futures, the theatre and our community. Students will be trained in theatre from Greeks to cutting-edge practices, preparing them for successful futures, ranging from an arts avocation to a happy, arts-invested life. The Academy will also become a formal theatre school, drawing tuition students for specific, intensive sessions linked to performance opportunities. Performances will benefit students and regional audiences.
