SLT Academy – Class Information
WHAT TO WEAR:
Students should wear clothing that won’t inhabit movement. Please dress in layers for optional comfort. Hair should be pulled back and away from the face. Please remove dangling jewelry. No flip-flops in class. Shoes or sandals must adhere around the heel as well as the toe for students’ safety.
WHAT TO BRING:
Full-day students should bring a packed lunch (peanut free) and water only to drink. Students may bring personal sunscreen and cell phones. Phones shall be stored in backpacks during class.
INFORMANCE – PERFORMANCE:
Classes may culminate with a paid public performance or an informance (an informal, informative free presentation representative of class work for family members).
CODE OF CONDUCT:
To provide a safe and supportive environment, we do not tolerate any form of physical or verbal abuse, vandalism, theft or use of any and all illegal substances. Any behaviors found in violation of this policy will be addressed, parents will be consulted, and students may be asked to leave class.
DROP OFF / PICK UP POLICIES:
Students should arrive at and be picked up not more than 15 minutes before or after a class. Students must sign in and out of every class. Grade 3 and below students must be signed in by a parent or registered caretaker. Students in grades 4 and above may sign themselves in and out of class. If a student in grade 3 or below is to be released into their own care to depart without a parent or caretaker, a letter or email of permission is required.
SLT Academy exists to create extraordinary educational theatre experiences as well as to advance theatre as a means of instructing, inspiring and challenging young people.
